These Andrews Redfoot tortoises come from the historic Hurricane Andrew rescue group in Homestead,
Florida, where a few surviving adult redfoots were found roaming after the storm and given a large outdoor lot to live and breed.
For nearly 40 years, this group has reproduced naturally outdoors, with every baby hatching right out of the ground
without incubation, indoor raising, or protection from Florida weather and subsequent hurricanes.
The result is an exceptionally hardy line: heavy, rock-solid tortoises with round, domed shells, no history of sickness, and a long track record of thriving in natural conditions.
These offspring make outstanding future breeders or incredibly tough, long-term pets for keepers who value both history and health.
